Small business owners, how would you benefit your community if you had $10,000 or even $20,000 to spend?

Would you create jobs? Or maybe create a program for local kids? Or rehab a local building as a home for organizations improving your neighborhood?

Citizens Bank is asking, and they’re backing up the question with the promise to award two prizes — $20,000 and $10,000 — in four cities including Pittsburgh. (The others are Boston, Detroit and Philadelphia.)

The call for entries is open through March 1 and winners for the Citizens Bank Small Business Community Champion Award will be chosen in May.

Here’s how you can apply: Before 5 p.m. on March 1, visit this website and submit 150 words about how your business strengthens the community and how investing in your business would support both business growth and your community. Up to two photos can be submitted with your entry.

The two winners for each city will be announced in late April.
