The first day of summer arrives Wednesday, which means the season of sprinklers, swimming, BBQs, fireflies and more is officially here. For a doubleheader of free family fun, head to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh this Sunday.

Hosting its annual Summer Free Day throughout the museum—plus the Allegheny SolarFest in Buhl Community Park—this is your one-stop shop for a fantastic Saturday.

Inside the galleries, rev your engine and take to the open road as you explore the new, one-of-a-kind Hands-On Harley-Davidson exhibition.

Pop into the Art Studio and MAKESHOP to experiment with high-contrast light and dark materials, and build projects using natural materials.

Head outdoors to Buhl Community Park to enjoy live music and activities powered by the sun! Enjoy performances by The Chiodi Trio, Brad Yoder and Buffalo Rose, visit an electric vehicle car show, and grab lunch from local food trucks.

Ready to go solar? Peruse vendor displays to learn about energy efficiency, aquaponics, solar home design, and community projects.

Kids can also participate in a collage workshop using upcycled cereal boxes led by NYC-based pop artist Michael Albert, who will be on hand to autograph posters.
